Barcelona, Spain / Vienna, Austria - November 7th, 2025: THQ Nordic and Alkimia Interactive invite fans back into the Colony, not through combat or magic, but through voice. A brand-new series of making-of-videos offers an exclusive look at how the Gothic 1 Remake was brought to life across these four languages: English, German, Polish, and Russian.
Each featurette dives deep into the recording booth, where actors and directors reveal what it takes to capture the raw emotion, grit, and humor that define the world of Gothic.

English Voice-Over Featurette – Made with PitStop Productions
Meet Joseph May (Nameless Hero), Andres Williams (Diego), Harry Myers (Xardas), Emma Gregory (UrNazkrog, Velaya), and Adam Diggle (Ur-Shak), under the direction of Beth Park and Daniel Bainbridge.
"I think the conversations, the script, the way it's written just feels really grounded and a bit dangerous at times as well. And I love that unpredictability, which is part of the reason why I’m playing the original. I'm loving it.", says Adam Diggle, voice of Ur-Shak and various characters.
"The thing I love about voice acting in games is, that I'm able to play characters that I would never ever play on screen. I'm not the most frightening of people to look at, so it's really great to use my voice to be able to play these really, really tough characters. It's a lot of fun", says Joseph May, voice of the Nameless Hero.

German Voice-Over Featurette

"I actually walked into a place once, was supposed to introduce myself […] and suddenly someone said, 'My God, you sound just like Xardas!' And at some point, I just had to say, 'I am.'", say Bodo Henkel.
"There is an English voice-over, but with Gothic it’s a bit different, since it was originally a German project, we're actually creating our own voice-over instead of doing a direct translation. So, in some cases, the characters say completely different things than in English, even though the goal in the end is the same.", say Tim Henneman, Voice Director.

Polish Voice-Over Featurette

“Returning after so many years to such a significant game, where my work 25 years ago was so well received by fans, is a huge responsibility.",
said Jacek Mikołajczak, voice of the Nameless Hero.
"The primary directive was that we keep the spirit of the original Gothic alive. When you are working on a project, there's always a desire to do it your way, but here these kinds of ambitions had to take a back seat due to the respect we have towards the original. ", declared Jakub Rezmer, the Producer and Voice Director, with Maksymilian Bogumił, the Voice Director and actor behind Cavalorn, adding "We wanted to adapt Gothic to the modern era without messing it up, concentrating mostly on implementing modern dubbing techniques that should match the audio experience with the modernized graphics."

Russian Voice-Over Featurette
